Very interesting conversation, It is very nice to hear from amazing illustrators/designers how they put in perspective the v-ray approach over the different platforms. and how they target the emotional focus of the illustrations based on the different style or stage of the illustrations. Great work,...Thanks for sharing! : )
Very cool conversation. We use V-ray and MAX for all phases of design. From grayscale stills and animation to photo realistic finals. I would love for the RT speeds to increase because I can see it being a great tool for presentation and interviews. The ability to use the Oculus with spherical images is also exciting news. We've used spherical images with Ipano so that the client can be more engaged and they loved it.
Keep in mind in-house vs outsource changes this discussion dramatically. Obviously a model is going to be used a lot in house for design discussions.
I suppose it comes down to Education of process and money they are willinhg to spend.
I don't know any company that uses the 3D model as a design tool, , the Viz company gets a call when the planning is going in or the request for further info is required.
I have. Not often, but it is done out there.
