My Ocean brand is the leading Bahamian-owned factory for bath, body, and home products, crafting distinctive items infused with authentic Bahamian scents, textures, shapes, and colors. The interior design aim was to encapsulate the essence of the Bahamas' context and landscape, characterized by light, harmony, and beauty. The store’s design was intended to reflect the brand’s identity and communicate its core message, fostering a deep connection with customers and the locale. To achieve this, an ambiance was proposed that reflects authentic Bahamian smells, textures, shapes, and colors. The overall effect was designed to be light and calm, allowing the artistically crafted products to stand out and command attention with their unique presence and value.
Drawing inspiration from the landscape of The Bahamas, ocean-colored flat tiles in a herringbone pattern were proposed for the flooring. This concept aimed to infuse the space with the texture and warmth characteristic of the Bahamas, achieved through the use of organic materials. For furnishings, driftwood was selected to enhance the natural ambiance. To create a focal point, it was suggested to place a wooden jewelry table at the center, surrounded by driftwood trees and stones, evoking the essence of the Bahamas.
