This image shows my interpretation of the new home for the blue whale skeleton belonging to the Arctic Museum in Tromsø, Norway. Architecture and image commissioned by Henning Larsen. The image shows the large circulation atrium of the museum with the blue whale hanging from the ceiling.
The challenge in this image was that the brief from the architects stated that the space should create a feeling of being under water, but without any specific concept or reference for that. In the end I came up with the concept of simple light projections of water caustics on the floor and walls to create this impression of being under water.
