The Quarters

This project is a full 3D recreation of the In Common With showroom and concept store located in Tribeca, originally photographed by William Jess Laird. I was drawn to the brand’s visual identity and their masterful use of palette, form, and atmosphere. The aesthetic felt timeless and rich with a lot of personality, making it a perfect study for refining my skills.
My approach is always rooted in storytelling. Every camera angle is treated like an editorial photograph, composed with intent and designed to draw the viewer in. The goal was to make each frame feel like a quiet moment frozen in time, where the details speak for themselves.
Working purely from reference photography, I aimed to capture the warmth, texture, and immersive quality of the original space. Each element, from material selection to lighting composition, was carefully considered to evoke the brand’s tone and spatial mood. The process became an exercise in restraint: allowing the shadows to speak, letting the natural softness of light shape the volumes, and creating images that feel lived-in and almost tangible.
The biggest challenge was balancing realism with mood. I spent a lot of time dialling in the lighting, searching for that fine line between warm, diffused sunlight and a slightly overcast softness. It is in that tension where the room begins to breathe and the character of the space comes forward.
This project, like many of my personal studies, is about learning by doing. Each space I recreate teaches me something new about colour, light, and technical precision. At the same time, it reveals more about emotion, atmosphere, and the subtle art of showing just enough.
